The Foundation structure lends itself to gifting programs that accommodate the budget requirements and charitable disposition of the donor. For instance, it may be to the donor's tax advantage to make a donation prior to year's end, however, the charitable cause he desires to support will not be prepared to accept the funds until the following year. The appropriate fund of the Foundation can accept the gift in the current year thereby affording the donor the desired tax advantage. At the same time, the donor can request that the Foundation hold the funds for distribution the following year. The donor and the charitable cause for which the funds were contributed both benefit.
